Mission work is never easy...there are many aspects that create heartbreak. When working with the unhoused population, you create bonds and relationships with those that turn to you for help. We often do not know where the unhoused are day to day. We constantly wonder if they are safe...unfortunately, we often find out the unimaginable, one of our unhoused loved ones have passed away.

As a small organization/business, employees become family. The Haven loves each employee that has previously worked for us and who currently work for us. Recently, a former employee passed away. Colton Shankle previously worked at the Haven as our marketing director, ministry assistant, and any role that needed to be filled. Colton was loved by all and will be forever missed.
