  MICHAEL

Michael has many adjectives to describe his character in the past, and very few of them would be considered positive attributes. "I was narcissistic, selfish, and self-absorbed." he says bluntly. "It was always about me and doing what I wanted without concern for others in my life."

Everything changed in 2014 when his wife suddenly died. He was devastated and not ready for the responsibilities of a single dad. He quickly remarried thinking this would help, but things only got worse. After seven years of dealing with Michael, his wife asked him to leave. After hitting rock bottom and feelings completely hopeless, he attempted suicide, but failed.

After undergoing psychiatric treatment, Michael was released and with no other options he made his way to the Haven of Rest. "It was the most humbling experience of my life." He was homeless and had little more than the clothes on his back.

Michael's healing first started in chapel. He found himself listening and being prodded by the Holy Spirit to turn his life over to Christ. Michael did just that. He accepted Jesus as his personal savior. "I immediately felt like a heavy load was lifted off my shoulder." he related.

There was an immediate change in Michael. He became the picture of thankfulness, always looking for ways to help and encourage others. The impact of God's love and your support had was profound. Michael is working and has reconnected with his wife. Thank you for making Michael's life possible.
