   TAMMY

Tammy had a series of mental health issues that brought her life to a near standstill. She had been hospitalized and had even spent time in an assisted living facility due to her bouts of mental instability. Tammy's family was not supportive and after one of her hospitalizations she found herself homeless. One counselor told her about the Haven of Rest and she checked into the Grace Home.

The regimentation of daily schedule was a blessing to Tammy, and between the daily devotions and working in the Haven's Food Pantry, she found herself enjoying life again. The devotions were helping her re-establish her relationship with Jesus Christ and serving others in need in the pantry was a blessing, especially when she was dealing with the children that came with their parents for food.

Because of the confidence she gained through the scheduling and counseling she received at the Haven, Tammy was able to get her own apartment and started working in a beauty shop. She has found a church family and is enjoying her new-found freedom and confidence.

"The Haven was probably the best thing that has ever happened to me." she asserted. "The counseling I received made me realize that I was worth something and gave me the confidence to live independently. I was able to reconnect with God and I really enjoyed my time there."
